BAOBAB FOREST

A short day trip or evening sun-downer to the Baobab Forest to visit the species of Baobab that is endemic to the South West. The Adansonia rubrostripa called 'Fony' or 'Reniala' by the local people, meaning Mother of the Forest.

Taking a walk around the spiny forest to absorb the peace of these spiritual locations, and topping it off with a chilled sun-set drink or a beautiful early morning coffee. 

MANGROVE WALK

Included in the WWF's Global 200 list of most outstanding ecoregions, accessing the Mangroves from sea or land, remains one of the most exciting experiences of the South West coast.


They are a vital breeding ground for many species of fish and a feeding place for migratory birds. The waters of the Madagascar mangroves are rich in fish and other animals such as waterbirds, crocodiles, and hawksbill turtles among others.


If the opportunity arises to help out in Mangrove planting events with the community, this is certainly something you shouldn't miss out on. 

TRADITIONAL WOOD CARVING

12 Euros

A day activity in which you can try your hand at Vezo wood carving. From a baobab to a shark or a more complex pirogue, its an opportunity to work closely with a local crafts man and take home your own creation, however, if crafts aren't your strength, you can also chose to visit to the studio and meet the vezo crafts men, share a coffee and see or purchase their work.

SAMBOSA COOKING CLASS

20 Euros

Join one of our local families in preparing traditional food. Sambosas, Boko Boko or Octopuss. You can even set off early in the morning to buy the ingredients in the market, and watch the busy activity of the traders
